Our football match prediction:
Liverpool kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 2-2 draw against Sevilla, with the team sharing the spoils with Spartak Moscow in their second group game. The Reds are determined to record their first win of the process, but they will be without key attacker Sadio Mane in Tuesday’s football match against Maribor. In Mane’s absence Mohamed Salah will be the man to watch in the away team and the Egypt international is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line. The Slovenian champions experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Sevilla and we are not tempted to put our money on them this time out. Jurgen Klopp’s men are likely to stick to their attacking style of play and we predict that they will prove their worth on the field. It has to be noted that the two teams meet for the first time ever in European competitions.
Highlighted Player (Luka Zahovic):
Luka Zahovic is the son of legendary Slovenian footballer Zlatko Zahovic. Luka Zahovic played for the likes of Valencia, Benfica and Pobrezje during his youth career before joining Maribor in 2009. The talented attacker, who was born in Guimaraes, Portugal on November 15, 1995, scored 13 goals in 45 appearances for Slovenian side in the national championship and in 2015 he moved to Netherlands, signing a three-year-old deal with Heerenveen. In August, 2016, he returned to Maribor, signing a loan deal with his boyhood club and in May, 2017 he signed a permanent deal with the Violets. Speaking of his international career, Luka Zahovic represented Slovenia U17 at the 2012 European Championship and it has to be noted that he found the net in a 3-1 defeat to Netherlands. Unlike his father, Luka’s preferred foot is right. His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as a secondary striker as well. Luka Zahovic has a deal with Maribor which should expire on May 31, 2020.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1892, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby. The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title. Liverpool won their last Champions League trophy in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched five European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
