Our football match prediction:
All eyes will be on Stadio San Paolo when Napoli and Nice face each other in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round. Napoli did remarkably well to reach the Champions League knockout stages last term, but La Liga giants Real Madrid proved to be a big catch for the Serie A outfit. The Neapolitans are eager to participate in the group stages of the elite competition for yet another season and they are considered favourites to win the two-legged tie against Nice. Maurizio Sarri’s men proved their worth in a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich at the 2017 Audi Cup and seeing that the Italian tactician can count on his key players for Wednesday’s football match, we predict that the hosts will emerge triumphant in the first leg. Nice eliminate Ajax on away goal rule in round 3, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the star-studded Italian team.
Highlighted Player (Hysaj):
Born on 2nd February 1994, Elseid Hysaj is an Albanian defender who has spent his entire professional career in Italian Serie A and he is predicted a bright future in the game. Empoli scouts spotted his talent while he was playing for Shodra youth sides, and after three years in the youth team, the full-back was promoted to the first team set up. Hysaj performed really well in his first three years as a first team regular, helping the Azzurri gain promotion to the top fight in the process. One season in Serie A proved enough for the right-sided defender to secure a big club move as he joined Napoli in the summer of 2015 and immediately nailed down a regular starting berth. Capable of doing dirty defensive work as well as making forward runs, Hysaj is a modern full-back, who is destined for big things. The talented footballer is already a key member of the Albania national team and he will represent the country at the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (OGC Nice):
Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac. Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white. The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
