Our football match prediction:
High-flying Paris Saint-Germain will be aiming to book their place in the Champions League last 16 with a win over Anderlecht at their Parc des Princes. Les Parisiens have been impressive in Group B so far and they are widely expected to extend their winning run to four games. Brazilian ace Neymar was sent off in a 2-2 draw with Olympique Marseille in the Ligue 1 derby, but he is available for selection for the Champions League clash against Anderlecht and, no doubt, the opposition defenders are likely to have their work cut out for them when facing the former Barcelona man. The Belgian champions suffered a loss in each of their first three group games and they are unlikely to spoil PSG’s party at Parc des Princes. Taking everything into account, the Ligue 1 giants are likely to record a routine win over Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s men in Tuesday’s football match.
Highlighted Player (Thiago Silva):
Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is one of the highest rated defenders in world football. Having emerged from Fluminense youth ranks, the 31-year-old defender established himself as a world-class performer while plying his trade for AC Milan from 2009 to 2012. Having largely contributed to Rossonerri’s title winning campaign in 2010-11, Thiago Silva moved to Paris Saint-Germain together with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a reported fee worth €42 million, which made him then second-most expensive defender in football history after Rio Ferdinand. Silva was an immediate success at the French club, helping Les Parisiens win four consecutive Ligue 1 titles in the process. Heavily linked with a move away from Parc des Princes, fan favourite Thiago Silva remains a key figure at Paris Saint-Germain and a leader of the new wave under head coach Unai Emery. Having already surpassed the 100-game mark for the French giants, Thiago Silva is slowly writing his name in the history books of Paris Saint-Germain.

Highlighted Team (Anderlecht):

Founded on 27 May, 1908, Anderlecht are considered one of the oldest clubs in Belgium. The Paars-wit are the dominant force in the Belgian Pro League and in 2014 they won their 33rd domestic trophy. Anderlecht did remarkably well to win the UEFA Super Cup title in 1983, with the team defeating Benfica in the final of the competition. The Belgian outfit recorded a 1-0 over the Eagles in the first leg, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the return leg. Anderlecht play their home games at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1917. The stadium was renovated in 1983 and current capacity of Anderlecht’s home ground is 28 063. The Paars-wit have long-standing rivalries with the likes of Standard Liege and Club Brugge, whilst FC Brussels were considered the club’s bitter opponents in the past. The likes of Besnik Hasi, Lucas Biglia, Filip De Wilde and Romelu Lukaku are some of Anderlecht’s notable players.
