Our football match prediction:
European champions begin their title defence with a game against Sporting at Santiago Bernabeu. Zinedine Zidane’s men are kicking off the ne UEFA Champions League season in great form, which saw them win each one of their five games at the beginning of the new season. Real Madrid are coming off from a comprehensive 5-2 beating of Osasuna, which marked the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal star missed all the competitive action in the new season ever since he picked up a knee injury in the Euro 2016 final against France. Ronaldo capped his return by scoring an opener at the weekend and there is no time that his presence on the pitch will be a huge boost for the entire team. Sporting have had an equally successful start to the new season. Jorge Jesus’ men are on a five-watch winning run and will be keen to extend it with their trip to Santiago Bernabeu. It will be easier said than done against a clearly more quality side and we predict that Cristiano Ronaldo will have no compassion for his boyhood club.
Highlighted Player (Sergio Ramos):
Over the years Sergio Ramos has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world. The Spanish footballer was born in Camas on 30 March, 1986 and he is a product of Sevilla’s youth academy. He made 39 league appearances for Sevilla and he played 26 games for the reserve team as well from 2003 to 2005. In the summer of 2005 Sergio Ramos signed a deal with Real Madrid for a fee of €27 million and it has to be noted that he made 33 appearances for the capital club in the 2005/2006 La Liga campaign. The 183-cm-tall full back is capable of playing as a right back as well and, as a result, he often scores for Real Madrid. Sergio Ramos helped Real Madrid win two Champions League trophies (2013/2014, 2015/2016) and he has three La Liga titles with los Blancos. The Spanish defender won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with la Furia Roja, while clinching Euro 2008 and 2010 titles with the Spanish national team as well.
