Our football match prediction:
Red Bull Arena will host Wednesday’s football game between Salzburg and Rijeka. The Croatians outclassed TNS in the second qualifying round, but eliminating the Red Bulls in the double-header is easier said than done. Salzburg set up a meeting with Rijeka by beating Hibernians of Malta and they will have a much bigger fish to fry in the two-legged tie against Matjaz Kek’s men. The Austrian champions have yet to book their place in the group stages of the elite competition and it has to be noted that they were eliminated by Dinamo Zagreb in their last meeting with a Croatian side in the Champions League qualifiers. Both Salzburg and Rijeka are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in the first leg and we predict that both teams will score in the Red Bull Arena clash. Florentin Matei has been in a fine form of late and he is likely to prove a handful for Salzburg defenders.
