Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Despite failing to impress on Quique Setien’s debut against Granada, Barcelona eventually picked up all three points from the match thanks to Leo Messi’s beautiful goal. The Catalan giants are level on points with their bitter rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga standings, and, on the other hand, they take on Ibiza in their Copa del Rey opener. Regardless of which players will be deployed in the starting XI, we are positive that Quique Setien’s men are going to advance to the last 16 without any difficulties.
Ibiza set up a meeting with Barca by beating Pontevedra and Albacete, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesday’s football match against the star-studded La Liga side. Spain rising star Ricard Puig Marti, who came as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Granada, is likely to start against Ibiza.
Highlighted Player (Arturo Vidal):
Arturo Vidal is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Colo-Colo. In 2007 he moved to Europe, signing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. After making 117 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit from 2007 to 2011, he joined Juventus on 22 July, 2011 for a fee of €10.5 million.
Vidal won four Serie A trophies with the Bianconeri and he participated in the Champions League final against Barcelona on 6 June, 2015. The Serie A giants, though, were beaten by Barca in the title game. In the summer of 2015 he moved to Bayern Munich and he won the Bundesliga trophies with Pep Guardiola’s team in the 2015/2016 season. Speaking of his international career, Vidal won two Copa America trophies with Chile (2015, 2016).
The Chilean ace is a central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both as defensive at attacking midfielder as well. His contract with Bayern Munich expires on 30 June, 2019.
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona is a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past.
The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957.
Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
