Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Estadio Romano will host Sunday’s football game between Merida and Celta Vigo, the two teams who face each other in the second time of the prestigious cup competition. Merida set up a meeting with the La Liga side by beating La Nucia on penalties, but we do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp in the Spanish Cup. The Segunda B side are not enjoying a season to remember, with the team sitting in the relegation zone ahead of Matchday 20.
Os Celeste, on the other hand, aim to make amends for the slow start to the La Liga season. Celta Vigo sit in the 17th place in the Primera Division standings, but it seems as if their performances are better than the results. Anyhow, the visitors want this win more than the hosts, who are fighting hard to avoid relegation to Tercera Division.
Highlighted Player (Santi Mina):
Santi Mina is a Spanish International footballer who plays for Celta Vigo in La Liga. Born in Galicia, the 6ft tall forward joined his hometown club RC Celta De Vigo's football academy in 2005. After mostly serving for its reserve team during the 12/13 season, Mina's performances earned him a place on the bench for the club's league encounter against Getafe on the 16th of February, 2013.
He later came on in the game during the 66th minute to mark his first-ever professional appearance in football. The following season, he scored his first professional goal in a 2-3 home loss to Athletic Bilbao in September 2013. The forward went on to make over 60 appearances for the Celts before leaving to join Valencia in 2015, on a six-year-deal worth 10 million euros. Mina spent a total of four years at the Mestalla, making 150 appearances and scoring 42 goals in all competitions.
He also won the 18/19 edition of the Copa Del Rey with the club. In July 2019, the striker resigned for his current club Celta on a four-year deal. Mina, who was born on the 7th of December 1995, has represented Spain Internationally at the youth level.
