Our prediction for this Copa del Rey match:
Real Madrid did defeat Numancia 3-0 at Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos in the Copa del Rey last 16, first leg, but the capital club’s performance was anything but brilliant. Los Blancos scored two goals from the penalty spot, but they are with one foot in the quarter-finals of the Spanish Cup and nothing else matters. Coach Zinedine Zidane rested his first-team regulars in the first leg and he is likely to stick to his rotation policy. Anyhow, seeing that los Numantinos are low on confidence ahead of the trip to Madrid, we predict the Spanish giants will emerge triumphant in Wednesday’s football match. Real Madrid are a real force to be reckoned with at home and Numancia are unlikely to make a miracle at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Key player Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to be rested for La Liga game against Villarreal, but Gareth Bale should keep his place in the starting XI as he is eager to find his best form.
Highlighted Player (Toni Kroos):
Toni Kroos is a Real Madrid midfielder who started playing for Bayern Munich II at senior level. He made 13 appearances for the reserve team and on 31 January, 2009 he joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan. He made his Bayer debut on 28 February, 2009, coming as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Hannover. The German midfielder scored ten goals in 43 league appearances with the BayArena outfit and in the summer of 2010 he returned to Bayern Munich. Kroos won three Bundesliga trophies with the mighty Bavarian giants (2007/2008, 2012/2013, 2013/2014) and in 2013 he was part of Bayern Munich’s team that won the Champions League trophy. In 2014, though, he decided to leave the club and the German superstar joined Real Madrid on a six-year-contract. Kroos won the 2015/2016 Champions League trophy with los Blancos and it has to be noted that he produced a thrilling performance in the title game against Atletico Madrid. In 2014 he clinched the FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany.
Highlighted Team (Real Madrid):
Real Madrid are a Spanish football club based in Madrid. Real Madrid participate in La Liga (Primera Division) and they have won 32 domestic titles. On the other hand, los Blancos have won 11 European Cup titles and that is the main reason why they are considered the biggest football club in the world. Real Madrid play their home matches at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the capacity of the stadium is 84,454. Cristiano Ronaldo is the club’s most successful footballer in the 21st century and the Portuguese superstar has won two Golden Ball awards. The likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, David Beckham and Iker Casillas are star players who were part of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the past. Real Madrid’s bitterest rivals are Barcelona, but the rivalry between local rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is big as well. Real Madrid’s home kit is white and, as a result, the team’s nickname is los Blancos (the Whites).
