Our football match prediction:
Estadio Municipal de Ipurua will host Wednesday’s football match between Eibar and Atletico Madrid. Los Armeros suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to los Rojiblancos in Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, first leg, meaning that they have slim chances of qualifying for the next round. Eibar head into the match following a loss to Barcelona in La Liga and we predict that Diego Simeone’s troops are going to record yet another win over Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men. Atletico Madrid played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Athletic Bilbao at the weekend and they are determined to return to winning ways. Despite the fact that Cholo Simeone is going to mix the squad against Eibar, away win should be considered in this one. Los Rojiblancos are after their ninth consecutive win over Eibar and, taking everything into account, los Armeros are unlikely to put an end to the negative trend.
Highlighted Player (Gonzalo Escalante):
Gonzalo Escalante is an Argentine footballer who plays for Eibar in Spanish La Liga. Escalante made his senior debut for Boca Juniors, coming as a substitute in a 6-1 loss to San Martin de San Juan. After playing 11 matches for the Argentine giants, he was sent on loan to Catania on 28 August, 2014 and he scored his first professional goal against Virtus Entella on 28 October. On 29 January Escalante signed a permanent deal with the Sicilian outfit and he played 26 games for the club in the 2015/2016 campaign. At the end of the season he joined La Liga team Eibar on loan and he made his debut for los Armeros on 24 August against Granada. He managed to find his net on his debut and six months later he signed a permanent deal with the club. His contract with Eibar expires on 30 June, 2020. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Atletico Madrid):
Atletico Madrid are a Spanish team that plays in Primera Division (La Liga). Los Rojiblancos or los Colchoneros play their home matches at Estadio Vicente Calderon, which holds up to 54,960 spectators. Atletico Madrid have won 10 La Liga titles, but they have yet to lift the European Cup (Champions League) trophy. Los Rojblancos have won 10 Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup) trophies and it has to be noted that they defeated their bitter local rivals Real Madrid in the 2012/2013 Spanish Cup final. The rivalry between the two capital clubs is pretty big and El Madrileno is regarded as one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Atletico Madrid played two Champions League finals under Diego Simeone, but they failed to beat Real Madrid in the title games (2013/2014 and 2015/2016). However, the Argentine tactician helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy in 2014 and, no doubt, he is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the capital club.
