Our football match prediction:
Estadio Santiago Bernabeu will host Thursday’s football game between Real Madrid and Melilla, who face each other in the Spanish Cup last 32, return leg. Los Blancos rolled over the Segunda B side 4-0 in the first leg and they are considered hot favourites to win the return leg as well. Seeing that the capital club are with one foot in the last 16, Santiago Solari is likely to mix the squad, but Brazilian rising star Vinicius and his teammates are widely expected to record yet another win over Melilla. The visitors have little to play for in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu clash, therefore, we predict that they are going to return home empty-handed. Karim Benzema found the net in the 4-0 win over Melilla in the first leg, but the French attacker is likely to be rested in Thursday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Luka Modric):
Luka Modric is regarded as one of the best central midfielders in world football. The Croatian ace is a product of Dinamo Zagreb’s youth school and it has to be noted that he played 94 league games for the Modri between 2003 and 2008. In 2008 he signed a six-year deal with Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of £16.5 million. Luka made his Tottenham debut on 16 August, 2008 in a 2-1 loss to Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium. The Croatian star scored only 13 goals in 127 league appearances for the Spurs, but he is well known for his brilliant passing. In 2012 he signed for Real Madrid for a fee of £30 million and he made his debut against Barcelona in the 2012 Spanish Super Cup, return leg. Modric quickly established himself as a first-team regular and, no doubt, he helped the capital club win two Champions League trophies (2013/2014, 2015/2016). You should bear in mind that he was named Croatian Footballer of the Year in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2014.
Highlighted Team (Real Madrid):
Real Madrid are a Spanish football club based in Madrid. Real Madrid participate in La Liga (Primera Division) and they have won 32 domestic titles. On the other hand, los Blancos have won 11 European Cup titles and that is the main reason why they are considered the biggest football club in the world. Real Madrid play their home matches at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the capacity of the stadium is 84,454. Cristiano Ronaldo is the club’s most successful footballer in the 21st century and the Portuguese superstar has won two Golden Ball awards. The likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, David Beckham and Iker Casillas are star players who were part of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the past. Real Madrid’s bitterest rivals are Barcelona, but the rivalry between local rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is big as well. Real Madrid’s home kit is white and, as a result, the team’s nickname is los Blancos (the Whites).
