Our prediction for this Coupe de France match:
Saturday’s football match at Stadium Municipal pits together Toulouse and Nice, the two Ligue 1 teams. The two sides face each other in the last 64 of the French Cup and a close encounter is on the horizon. Toulouse head into the game following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Strasbourg and Lyon in the national championship, whilst Nice seem to be on top of their game at the moment. Les Aiglons made a very slow start to the season, but, as expected, they managed to get back on course and it has to be noted that they recorded four wins in previous five league fixtures. Nice have been in a much better form of late than Toulouse and we predict Mario Balotelli and Co. will advance to the Coupe de France last 32. You should bear in mind that les Pitchouns suffered four defeats in last five games in the French Cup.
Highlighted Player (Issa Diop):
After spending two years at Balma SC, Issa Diop joined Toulouse football academy in 2006 and he was making progress year by year. The 194-cm-tall defender made seven appearances for Toulouse B in the 2014/2015 season and he made his Ligue 1 debut with les Pitchouns on November 28, 2015 against Nice. Issa Diop, who was born in Toulouse on January 9, 1997, scored his first ever goal in the French top flight in a 3-0 win over Troyes in December, 2015. Diop is a youth international for France at various levels, but seeing that his father Labysse Diop is of Senegal descent, the Toulouse footballer could represent les Lions de la Teranga at senior level. The Toulouse defender scored two goals for les Pitchouns in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign and he made no less than 30 appearances for the club in the process. Issa Diop has a contract with Toulouse which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (OGC Nice):
OGC Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac.
OGC Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. OGC Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white.
The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
