Our football match prediction:
Wednesday’s football game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy pits together Lille and Nice. Lille have been producing fine performances in the Ligue 1 of late and they aim to kick off their Coupe de la Ligue campaign in great manner. Les Dogues are tough to beat at home, but the game against les Aiglons will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Nice have been having their ups and downs in the Ligue 1 this season and they are one of those unpredictable teams. Les Aiglons often struggle on the travels and we predict that they are going to share the spoils (regular time) with Lille at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. A man to watch in the away team will be Mario Balotelli, who has found his goal-scoring touch, whilst Nice defenders should have Lille midfielder Thiago Mendes at bay as he has been in a fine form of late.
Highlighted Player (Yassine Benzia):
Born in Saint-Aubin-les-Elbeuf, Yassine Benzia is an Algerian footballer who plays for Lille in Ligue 1. Benzia played for the likes of Saint-Aubin, Oissel, Caudebecais, Quevilly and Lyon during his youth career and he made his senior debut with les Gones on May 20, 2012 in a league game against Nice. After scoring four goals in 38 appearances in the French top flight for Lyon Yassine Benzia joined fellow Ligue 1 club Lille in 2015. Despite being born in France, Yassine Benzia decided to represent Algeria at senior level, but it has to be noted that he has nine caps for France U21 team (six goals). The prolific attacker played his first game for Algeria national football team on March 26, 2016 against Ethiopia. The right-footed footballer scored his first goal for Algeria in a 2-0 win over Seychelles in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. You should bear in mind that his contract with les Dogues expires on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (OGC Nice):
Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac. Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white. The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
