Our prediction for this Coupe de la Ligue match:
Nice will be looking to kick off their Coupe de la Ligue campaign in style when they host Auxerre at their Stade des Costieres on Wednesday evening. It is well known that Nice are a real force to be reckoned with at home, but they have not been impressive at their Stade de Costieres this term. Anyhow, Les Aiglons are eager to give fans something to cheer about and we predict that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in Wednesday’s football game. Auxerre, on the other hand, have been struggling in Ligue 2 this season, with the team sitting in the relegation zone after 12 rounds. Pablo Correa’s men experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 2-0 loss to Paris at the weekend and we do not believe that they are capable of upsetting the Mario Balotelli and Co. in the French League Cup last 32.
Highlighted Player (Mathieu Michel):

Mathieu Michel is a product of Nimes football academy. The 188-cm-tall goalkeeper played for the youth team of Nimes from 1999 to 2014 and in August 2013 he made his first-team debut with les Crocodiles, playing the entire game in a 3-1 loss to Tours.
After making 79 appearances for the club from 2012 until 2016, Michel moved to Angers in the summer of 2016, signing a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 club. The French shoot-stopper, who was born in Nimes on September 4, 1991, managed to keep eight clean sheets in 23 appearances for Angers in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign and you should bear in mind that he conceded 25 goals in the process.
Angers did well to make it to the 2016/2017 French Cup final, but big-spending club Paris Saint-Germain proved to be a big catch for Stephane Moulin’s troops. Mathieu Michel’s contract with les Scoistes expires on June 30, 2019.
Highlighted Team (OGC Nice):

OGC Nice are a football club that participate in French Ligue 1. Les Aiglons welcome their opponents at Allianz Riviera and the club was founded on 9 July, 1904 by Marquis Massengy d’ Auzac.
OGC Nice won their first Ligue 1 trophy back in 1951 and eight years later they clinched their fourth and last domestic title. Speaking of the French Cup, les Aiglons won their third Coupe de France title in 1997. Allianz Riviera has been the home ground of the club since September, 2013 and it has to be noted that the construction of the venue cost €250 million. OGC Nice play their home games in red and black shirts and black shorts, while the colour of their away kits is white.
The Ligue 1 team booked their place in the Europa League group stages for the 2016/2017 season for the first time in the club’s history and they were drawn alongside Schalke 04, Salzburg and Krasnodar in Group I. However, they were beaten by Schalke in their Europa League opener in front of home fans.
