Our football match prediction:
Nurnberg and Wolfsburg face each other at Max-Morlock-Stadion in the German Cup last 16. Nurnberg are determined to return to Bundesliga and they are seen as one of main favourites to secure automatic promotion to the German top flight. Der Ruhmreiche set up a meeting with the Bundesliga side by beating the likes of Duisburg and Osnabruck on the road and they are definitely capable of upsetting the Wolves in Tuesday’s football match at their packed Max-Morlock-Stadion. Wolfsburg sit in the middle of the Bundesliga table ahead of the trip to Nurnberg and, no doubt, a win over Michael Kollner’s men will certainly give them a confidence boost. However, considering that the 2. Bundesliga team are tough to beat at home we predict the two teams are going to play out a draw (90 mins) at Max-Morlock-Stadion. You should bear in mind that the two teams shared the spoils (1-1) in their last meeting in Nurnberg.
Highlighted Player (Blaszczykowski ):
Better known as “Kuba”, Jakub Blaszczykowski is a Polish midfielder, who has spent the majority of his career in German Bundesliga, and he has made over 75 appearances for the Polish national team. The highly rated midfielder represented KS Czestochowa and Wisla Krakow on domestic stage before joining Borussia Dortmund in February 2007, and little did he know that he would spend next decade at BVB. During his time with the Millionaires, Blaszczykowski established himself as one of Europe’s leading right wingers, winning two Bundesliga titles and reaching the Champions League final with Dortmund. The Poland international eventually lost his place in the side near the end of Jurgen Klopp’s reign at Signal-Iduna Park, and he later joined Fiorentina on loan in an attempt to kick-start his career. Kuba continues to play an important role for the Poland national team, with his return of 15 goals in first 75 caps pretty good for a midfielder. Blaszczykowski represented his country at the Euro 2012, but couldn’t help his side get past the group stage.
Highlighted Team (Wolfsburg):
Wolfsburg are a German football club founded in the aftermath of the World War II (1945). Die Wolfe (The Wolves) wear green and white shirts and they play their home games at Volkswagen Arena. The capacity of the stadium is 30,000 and it was opened on 13 December, 2002. It is well known that German car manufacturer Volkswagen are the club’s main sponsors. Wolfsburg won the Bundesliga trophy in 2009 and the likes of Edin Dzeko, Grafite and Zvjezdan Misimovic were part of the club’s golden generation. You should bear in mind that Grafite and Dzeko scored 54 goals between each other in the 2008/2009 Bundesliga campaign and that the team clinched the trophy thanks to a 5-1 win over Werder Bremen on 23 May, 2009. Die Wolfe won the German Cup trophy in 2015, with the team beating star-studded Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the title game. Wolfsburg are a team that has no bitter rivals in German football.
