Our prediction for this DFB Pokal match:
A place in the DFB Pokal semis will be at stake when Saarbrucken and Fortuna Dusseldorf face each other at Hermann-Neuberger-Stadion on Tuesday evening. Saarbrucken aim to build on a 4-0 win over Balingen in the Regionalliga, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against the Bundesliga side. Saarbrucken are a real force to be reckoned with at home, and you should know that they are on a seven-game winning run at home in the league.
Fortuna Dusseldorf, on the other hand, are fighting hard to secure the Bundesliga survival, but they have big ambitions for the German Cup final stages as well. The visitors booked their place in the DFB Pokal quarter-finals by beating Villingen, Aue and Kaiserslautern, but defeating Saarbrucken on the road is easier said than done. In their last meeting in a competitive match the two teams played out a goalless draw, meaning that share of spoils is on the horizon.
