Our football match prediction:
By beating lower-league club Eintracht Norderstedt Wolfsburg set up a meeting with Hannover 96 in the last 32 of the German Cup. The Wolves did well to win the DFB Pokal in the 2014/2015 season, with the team beating Borussia Dortmund in the title game and, no doubt, they are eager to repeat the success. Mario Gomez is still part of the team and the former Bayern Munich ace will be the man to watch in the home team, who have been having their ups and downs in the Bundesliga this season. Hannover rolled over Bonner (6-2) in their opener, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Wednesday’s football match against Atletico Madrid. Die Roten are tough to beat at home, but they often struggle on the travels and that is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the hosts, who managed to hold star-studded Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw at Allianz Arena earlier this term.

Mario Gomez was part of Germany 2010 World Cup squad that won the bronze medal at the showpiece tournament in South Africa and he played for Joachim Low’s team at the 2016 European Championship finals. The German attacker spent the 2015/2016 season on loan at Besiktas and he joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016. Mario Gomez has a contract with the Wolves which expires on 30 June 2019.
