Our match prediction:
Dynamo Kiev are another side that were not predicted a successful campaign, but ten points from six group games proved sufficient to win the second place in the group. The Ukrainians were then pitted against Manchester City, who have been far from impressive of late, but the hosts are not exactly in the right position to attempt to shock the Premier League side. Namely, they have had no competitive matches since defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv in December and that is likely to prove a major issue on Wednesday evening. Manchester City, on the other hand, are low on confidence after three successive defeats, but Champions League campaign is clearly the priority at the moment and this will seem as a perfect opportunity to return to winning ways. In spite of some injury problems, manager Manuel Pellegrini should, nonetheless, be able to field a strong side in Kiev and we believe his side will ultimately secure a much needed victory.
Highligted Player (Yaya Toure):
Gnegneri Yaya Toure is an Ivory Coast footballer who plays for Manchester City as a midfielder. The experienced player has won two Premier League trophies with the Citizens (2011/2012, 2013/2014), but he used to win titles during his spell with Barcelona as well. The Ivory Coast ace clinched two La Liga trophies with Barca (2008/2009, 2009/2010) and he did well to lift the Champions League trophy with the Catalan outfit in 2009. Speaking of his success with the Ivory Coast national football team, Yaya Toure won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015. It has to be noted that Toure scored in the penalty shootout in the title clash against Ghana. The Manchester City midfielder, though, failed to impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, with the former Barcelona star netting only six goals in 29 appearances for the Etihad Stadium outfit. Yaya Toure used to play for the likes of Beveren, Metalurg Donetsk, Olympiakos and Monaco in the past as well.
Highlighted Team (Manchester City):
Manchester City are the lest famous of the two major clubs based in Manchester. The club was founded in 1880, but they have been struggling in the English Premier League in the past. Nonetheless, ever since the club was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, the Citizens have been playing an important role in the English top flight. Manchester City won two Premier League trophies under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini (2011/2012 and 2013/2014), butboth managers eventually paid the price for some disappointing results. Man City play their home games at the Etihad Stadium and the stadium capacity is 55,097. Manchester United are regarded as Manchester City’s biggest rivals and the likes of Kun Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Uwe Rosler, Yaya Toure, Sylvain Distin are some of the most remarkable players that played for the Etihad Stadium outfit. Manchester City have won four Premier League titles and five FA Cup trophies and it has to be noted that they made it to the Champions League semis in the 2015/2016 season.
