Our prediction for this EFL Cup match:
All eyes will be on Stadium mk when Milton Keynes Dons and Liverpool face each other in the Carabao Cup last 32 on Wednesday evening. MK Dons are eager to claim a major scalp in round 3 of the prestigious competition, but beating the star-studded Premier League side is easier said than done. The League One side failed to impress in back-to-back losses to the likes of Ipswich town and Southend United and we do not believe that they are capable of shocking one of the main favourites to win the League Cup trophy.
Despite the fact that Jurgen Klopp is likely to use Wednesday’s clash to test as many players as possible, we are tempted to put our money on the Champions League winners, who head into the match following a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner and Adam Lallana are all likely to be recalled to the starting line-up.
Highlighted Player (Kieran Agard):
Kieran Agard is a professional football player who was born in East London, England. He began his youth career in the Arsenal Academy and in 2005 he moved to Everton. Agard played for Everton U-18 team and it has to be noted that he made no more than one appearance for the first team.
In 2011 he joined Yeovil Town and after playing 29 league games for the club, he signed a contract with Rotherham United in July, 2012. Agard scored his first goal for Rotherham United on 27 October and he helped the team record a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle. After scoring 27 goals in 78 league appearances for Rotherham United, he joined Bristol City for the 2014/2015 campaign. The fee is believed to be in the region of £750,000.
Despite being born in England, the pacey footballer is eligible to play for Jamaica, Saint Vincent Grenadines and Dominica as well. His main position is centre forward, but he is also capable of playing at both right and left wing.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1892, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby.
The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title.
Liverpool won one of their last Champions League trophy's in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched six European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs.
The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
