Our football match prediction:
Hapoel Be’er Sheva impressed in the group stages of the Europa League. The Israeli club did well to leave the likes of Southampton and Inter behind them in Group K and many people expected that they would eliminate Besiktas in the last 32 of the European competition. However, Hapoel experienced all sorts of problems in a 3-1 loss to Senol Gunes’ team in the first leg and, as a result, they have slim chances of qualifying for the last 16. The Turks aim to get their job done in Thursday’s football match and seeing that they have been scoring goals for fun of late, we predict that the Kara Kartallar will give fans yet another reason for celebration. Cenk Tosun found the net in the 3-1 win over Hapoel in Israel and he is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts against Bachar Barak’s troops.
Highligted Player (Veli Kavlak):
Veli Kavlak is an Austrian international midfielder playing for Turkish giants Besiktas since 2011. Kavlak began his professional career at Rapid Wien where he spent seven years before his move to Turkey. A defensive box-to-box midfielder, Veli Kavlak is renowned for his tireless running and endless stamina. Most often deployed at the holding role, Kavlak is a hardworking leader to his team. During most recent times his career has been plagued by numerous injuries which have prevented him from playing his usual role for the Turkish giants. Former Rapid midfielder has endured a difficult season marked by a recurring shoulder problem which kept him out of action for the most part of the campaign. Fitness issues continued in the 2016-17 season forcing Kavlak under the knife for the fifth time in two years. His club notoriously decided to freeze Kavlak’s contract, which means that the 29-year-old midfielder is heading into the new Champions League season without his monthly payments.
Highlighted Team (Hapoel Beer Sheva):
Hapoel Be’er Sheva are an Israeli football club based in Beersheba. The club was founded in 1949 and they play their home games at Turner Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 16 126 and it was opened in September, 2015. Hapoel wear red shirts and white shorts when playing on home soil and they play in blue shirts and black shorts on the travels. The club played their first game against Mefalsim and they defeated their opponents 5-4. Back then no more than five teams competed in the Israeli league and it has to be noted that the likes of Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Hapoel Kfar Saba and Hapoel Ramat Gan were other teams that participated in the league. In 1975 Hapoel Be’er Sheva won their first Israeli Premier League trophy, with the team finishing the season three points clear of Maccabi Netanya. In the 2015/2016 season they won their third domestic trophy, leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv three points clear of them in the standings. Shalon Avitan is one of the most notable footballers who played for the club.
