Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Copenhagen are enjoying a very successful season. The Danish side have been producing fine performances in both national championship and Europa League this term and it is no surprise they are considered favourites to win Thursday’s football game against Slavia Prague. Copenhagen aim to overtake Zenit in top position in Group C, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. The Czech side, on the other hand, recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bordeaux in their opener, but Zenit proved to be a big catch for them in Moscow. A low-scoring affair is on the horizon at Telia Parken and we predict that the two teams are going to play out a goalless draw in their third group game. It has to be noted that Copenhagen and Slavia Prague meet for the first time ever in European competitions.
Highlighted Player (Viktor Fischer):
Viktor Fischer is a professional football player who was born in Aarhus, Denmark on 9 June, 1994. Fischer used to play for several Danish clubs during his youth career (Lyseng, Viby, AGF, Midtylland) and in 2012 he made his senior debut for Eredivisie giants Ajax.
The Dutch forward played his first game for Ajax on 20 October 2012 in a 3-3 draw and he scored his first goal for the Dutch outfit on 31 October 2012 against ONS Sneek in the KNVB Cup. Viktor is the grandson of former Danish football player Poul Pedersen. Both prefer to play on the wing, but Viktor Fisher is capable of playing as attacking midfielder or centre forward as well. It has to be noted that he scored ten goals in 23 appearances for Ajax in the 2012/2013 Eredivisie campaign.
On 14 November, 2012 he made his Denmark debut in a friendly against Turkey. Fischer was widely regarded as one of Ajax’s hottest prospects and he eventually joined Premier League newcomers Middlesbrough in the summer of 2016.
Highlighted Team (Slavia Prague):
Slavia Prague is considered one of the most famous teams in Czech Republic. The Cervenobili won the Czechoslovak First League on 13 occasions and they lifted their fourth Czech First League in 2017. Despite winning the domestic trophy in the 2016/2017 season, Slavia Prague eventually failed to book their place in the Champions League group stages as they were beaten by APOEL of Cyprus in the play-offs. Sparta Prague are regarded as Slavia’s fiercest rivals and the two teams face each other in the Prague derby.
The club was founded on November 2, 1892 and it has to be noted that the club was initially focused on cycling. In March 1896 Slavia Prague recorded their first ever victory, with the team beating AC Prague 5-0. The Cervenobili play their home games at Eden Arena and the capacity of the venue is 19.084 (football). Slavia Prague are well known for their red and white shirts and white shorts.
