Our football match prediction:
Fiorentina have been totally unpredictable this season. The Viola defeated Roma earlier in September, but they failed to emerge triumphant in previous two league fixtures against Udinese and Milan. The Serie A team played out a goalless draw with PAOK in the opening match of their Europa League campaign and they are regarded as favourites on paper to pick up all three points from Thursday’s football match against Qarabag. The Azeri team played out a 2-2 draw with Slovan Liberece in their Europa League opener, but upsetting Fiorentina at Stadio Artemio Franchi is easier said than done. Qarabag suffered a loss in each of their last four away games in the Europa League and, taking everything into account, we predict that the Viola are going to record their first win in Group J on Thursday night. Nikola Kalinic is eager to add more goals to his account and he should pose a big threat for the opposition defenders.
Highligted Player (Tatarusanu):
Anton Ciprian Tatarusanu is one of Romania’s most famous goalkeeper at the moment, and he has surprisingly spent the majority of his career up to date in his native country. The highly rated shot-stopper joined the most famous club on domestic stage Steaua via Juventus Bucuresti and Gloria Bistrita and he would go on to spend next seven years in the capital, making over 130 league appearances and featuring in over 40 matches in European competitions. The big club move finally materialised in the summer of 2014 as he waited his contract to expire before signing for Fiorentina, and he quickly established himself as the number one goalkeeper at Artemio Franchi. When it comes to international stage, Tatarusanu has spent much of his career competing with Costel Pantilimon for the starting berth in the national team, and he has emerged a winner, making 30 odd appearances for the Tricolorii since 2010. Bar any surprises, Tatarusanu will make his debut appearance at major tournaments at the Euro 2016 finals.
Highlighted Team (Qarabag):
Over the years Qarabag have established themselves as one of the best teams in Azerbaijan. The club was founded in 1951 and they were playing under the name of Mehsul back then. Qarabag won their first trophy in the national championship in 1993, beating Khazar Sumgayit in the title game. In the 2015/2016 season they won their fourth domestic trophy, with the team finishing the season 22 points clear of second-placed Zira. Qarabag participated in the 2016/2017 Champions League qualifiers, but they were more than unfortunate to suffer a loss to Viktoria Plzen in the two-legged tie. The Azerbaijan outfit were beaten by the Czechs on away goal rule and, as a result, they made it to the Europa League playoffs. Thanks to a win over Goteborg in the double-header Qarabag made it to the knockout stages of the competition. The Horsemen play their home games at Azersun Arena and their home colours are black. Qarabag play their away games in white kits.
