Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Gent will be looking to cement top position in the Europa League when they host Oleksandria at their GEHALMCO-arena on Thursday evening. Gent are undefeated in Group I, and it is no surprise they are seen as hot favourites to win the match against the rock-bottom side. The Belgians are likely to go all guns blazing at the Ukrainians, and we predict that they are going to put the icing on the cake on a very successful Europa League campaign.
Oleksandria, on the other hand, are focused on the national championship as they want to represent Ukraine in European competitions for yet another season. Considering that the Ukrainian outfit struggle on the travels, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Gent’s party at GHELAMCO-arena. When the two teams met in L’viv earlier in the process, they played out a 1-1 draw, but home win should be considered this time out.
Highlighted Player (Michael Ngadeu Ngadjui):
Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui is a Cameroon international who plays for Slavia Prague as a defender. Ngadjui started his career at the youth team of Diables Rouges Maroua and in 2007 he moved to Canon Yaounde. The 190-cm tall footballer continued playing for Diables Rouges Maroua at senior level and in 2010 he joined German lower-league side Kirchhorder SC.
At the end of the 2010/2011 he moved to fellow German club SV Sandhausen II and in 2012 he signed a contract with Nurnberg. After making 54 appearances for the reserve team he moved to Romania, signing a deal with Botosani. Michal Ngadeu Ngadjui scored seven goals in 53 league games for the Romanian side before joining Slavia Prague in 2016.
The Cameroonian footballer, who was born in Bafang on November 23, 1990, won the national championship with Slavia Prague in the 2016/2017, but the capital club eventually failed to make it to the Champions League group stages. His main position is centre back, but he is used as a defensive midfielder as well.
Highlighted Team (Oleksandriya):
Based in Oleksandriya, Kirovohrad Oblast, FC Oleksandriya are a Ukrainian professional football club. The Mistiany wear yellow shirts and black shorts when playing at home, whilst the club’s away colours are white and green.
CSK Nika is the club’s home ground, the stadium which can hold no more than 7,000 spectators. Nika Stadium was renovated in 1998 in place of Shakhtar Stadium. FC Oleksandriya returned to the Premier League in 2015 and they have been competing in the Ukrainian top flight ever since.
The Mistiany booked their place in the Europa League group stages in the 2018/2019 season, with the team facing Wolfsburg, Gent and Saint-Etienne in Group I. FC Oleksandriya were producing fine performances in the 2018/2019 season, beating star-studded Dynamo Kiev in front home fans. The club eventually finished the campaign in third position in the standings, 16 points behind champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
