Our match prediction:
Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark will host the match between Hertha and Brondby. The Danish outfit experienced all sorts of problems in the two-legged tie against Hibernian, but they eventually made it to the Europa League third qualifying round on penalties. Brondby are likely to stick to their attacking style of play in Thursday’s football match and considering that the Bundesliga team play well in front of home fans in Berlin, a lively contest is on the cards. It has been six years since Hertha played their last game in the Europa League and, no doubt, the hosts want to record a good result in the European competition this season. Hertha and Brondby faced each other in the 2009/2010 Europa League campaign, with the German team managing to eliminate the Danes in the two-legged tie back then. In previous two meetings between the two teams seven goals were scored and we predict that the fans will see goals galore at Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark.
Highligted Player (Pekarik):
Peter Pekarik is a Slovakian defender born on 30th October 1986 in Zilina, and has so far made over 60 appearances for the country’s national team. The full-back spent his early career at boyhood club Zilina, and his big break came in January 2009, when he joined German giants Wolfsburg. Pekarik in turn helped his new side lift their first ever Bundesliga trophy in his debut season, but eventually lost his place in the starting line-up and decided to join Hertha after a season-long loan at Kayserispor. The right-sided defender has since featured in over 70 league matches for the Olympiastadion outfit, who enjoyed a great deal of success during the 2015/2016 campaign. Pekarik has been one of Slovakia’s most consistent performers since making his debut in 2006, and he started three games for the team at the 2010 World Cup.
