Our football match prediction:
Against all odds, Ostersunds sit in top position in Group J ahead of Thursday’s football match against Hertha Berlin. The Swedish outfit have already secured their spot in the Europa League last 32, but, no doubt, they want to put icing on the cake on a very successful campaign with a win over Hertha. The Bundesliga side, on the other hand, failed to advance to the knockout stages and the lack of motivation could prove to be a big problem for Pal Dardai’s men in their last group game. The hosts have nothing to play for in Thursday’s Europa League game and we predict that Ostersunds will record their fourth win of the process and clinch top position in Group J. Iran international Saman Ghoddos is enjoying a very successful season and he will be looking to add more goals to his account after finding the net in a 2-0 win over Zorya.
Highlighted Player (Vladimir Darida):
Born in Sokolov on 8 August 1990, Vladimir Darida is yet another Czech Republic footballer who has made a name for himself in German Bundesliga, although not before leaving his mark on the domestic competition. The highly rated midfielder, who can successfully cover a number of positions in the middle of the park, enjoyed several successful years at Viktoria Plzen, making no fewer than 28 appearances in European competitions, before deciding to leave for SC Freiburg. Darida performed so well in his first two Bundesliga campaign that he was purchased by Hertha Berlin when his previous employers got relegated to the second division, and he in turn helped the Olympiastadion outfit enjoy a thoroughly impressive campaign. Darida was a surprise inclusion to the Czech Republic squad for the Euro 2012 finals, but there were no surprises when he played a key role to help Repre qualify for the Euro 2016 tournament. He impressed playing in a more advanced role in the absence of Tomas Rosicky, and he has already earned more than 30 caps for the national team.
Highlighted Team (Ostersunds):
Against all odds, Ostersunds made it to the 2017/2018 Europa League group stages. Despite being regarded as big underdogs in the two-legged tie against PAOK, the Swedish club did well to shock the Greek side in the play-off round and, as a result, they will have a chance to prove their worth on the big stage. Ostersunds will face the likes of Zorya, Hertha and Athletic Bilbao in Group J and they will welcome their rivals at their Jamtkraft Arena. The stadium was opened on July 13, 2007 and the capacity of the venue is 8.466. Ostersunds, who were promoted to the Swedish top flight in 2016, did well to win the 2016/2017 Swedish Cup and that is considered as the club’s biggest success. The club was founded in 1996 and they are well known for their jerseys with red and black stripes. Ostersunds play their away games in white shirts and white shorts and the likes of Saman Ghoddos, Jamie Hopcutt, Jamal Blackman, Samuel Mensiro, Michael Tidser, David Accam, Brian Wake, Lee Makel and Connor Ripley are the notable footballers who played for the Swedish club in the past.
