Our football match prediction:
Lokomotiv Moscow will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run in Group F when they square off against Sheriff Tiraspol at their RZD Arena. Lokomotiv Moscow sit in top position in their group ahead of the visit of Sheriff and a win over the Moldavian side would see them move one step closer to advancing to the knockout stages of the Europa League. Seeing that Lokomotiv have been producing thrilling displays in the Russian Premier League this season, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts. Sheriff are leading the chase for the domestic trophy as well, but they have yet to record a win in the group stages of the Europa League and, taking everything into account, we predict that they are going to return home empty-handed. It has to be noted that the Moldavians are on a nine-game winless run in the competition ahead of the trip to Russia.
Highligted Player (Solomon Kvirkvelia):
Solomon Kvirkvelia is a Georgia international who plays for Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow as a centre-back. Kvirkvelia started his career at the youth team of Zenit Saint Petersburg and in 2010 he moved to Rubin Kazan. The 196-cm tall defender played for Rubin Kazan from 2011 to 2017 and then he joined fellow Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow. Solomon Kvirvelia made his Lokomotiv Moscow debut on March 5, 2017 in a 3-0 loss to Krylya Sovetov and he scored his first ever goal for the capital club on July 18, 2017 in a 1-0 victory over Arsenal Tula. The Lokomotiv Moscow centre back made his Moldova debut on March 5, 2014 in a friendly game against Liechtenstein. Speaking of his honours, it has to be noted that he won two Russian Cup titles with Rubin Kazan and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively. His main position is centre back, but he is used as a right-back as well. Kvirkvelia’s contract with Lokomotiv Moscow should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Sheriff Tiraspol):
Sheriff Tiraspol or simply Sheriff are the most successful Moldavian club. The club was founded in 1997 four years later (2000/2001) they won their first Moldovan National Division trophy. Over the years Sheriff Tiraspol have established themselves as the dominant force in the Moldovan football and you should that they won their 15th domestic trophy in the 2016/2017 season. Sheriff were level on points with Dacia Chisinau, but thanks to a better goal difference Roberto Bordin’s men won the national championship. The Moldovan champions wear yellow shirts and yellow shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is black. Sheriff Tiraspol host their opponents at Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol and the venue can hold 12.746 people. By beating the likes of Dinamo Tirana and Dinamo Zagreb the Moldovan club did well to make it to the Champions League play-off round in the 2010/2011 season, but Basel eventually proved to be a big catch for them.
