Our football match prediction:
Unlike last season, Hapoel Be’er Sheva have been struggling in the Europa League this term, with the team recording only one win in the process. The Israeli outfit sit in third place in Group G and they are on a three-game winless run ahead of Thursday’s football match against Lugano. Hapoel need to grab something from the game if they are to keep their hopes of booking their place in the last 32 alive and, one thing is for sure, the visitors are going to leave their hearts on the field. Lugano, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a heavy 4-1 loss to Viktoria Plzen, but seeing that the Swiss side have been struggling at the back in the Europa League group stages this term, we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on Pierluigi Tami’s charges.
Highlighted Player (Jonathan Sabbatini):
Jonathan Sabatini is a professional footballer who plays for Lugano as an attacking midfielder. Sabbatini was born in Paysandu, Uruguay on March 31, 1988, but he started his career at the youth team of Liverpool. In 2008 he moved to Italy, signing a contract with Virtus Lanciano, but he made no more than seven appearances in the league for the club. The Uruguay international was hungry for a first-team football and, as a result, he joined fellow Italian club Chieti in 2009. Jonathan Sabatini managed to establish himself as a first-team regular at Chieti and he scored 19 goals in 88 appearances in the league for the Stadio Guido Angelini outfit from 2009 to 2012. In 2012 he signed a deal with Swiss side Lugano and he has been playing for the club ever since. Lugano impressed in the 2016/2017 Swiss Super League campaign, with the team finishing the season in third place in the standings and, as a result, they booked their place in the group stages of the Europa League.
Highlighted Team (Hapoel Beer Sheva):
Hapoel Be’er Sheva are an Israeli football club based in Beersheba. The club was founded in 1949 and they play their home games at Turner Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 16 126 and it was opened in September, 2015. Hapoel wear red shirts and white shorts when playing on home soil and they play in blue shirts and black shorts on the travels. The club played their first game against Mefalsim and they defeated their opponents 5-4. Back then no more than five teams competed in the Israeli league and it has to be noted that the likes of Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Hapoel Kfar Saba and Hapoel Ramat Gan were other teams that participated in the league. In 1975 Hapoel Be’er Sheva won their first Israeli Premier League trophy, with the team finishing the season three points clear of Maccabi Netanya. In the 2015/2016 season they won their third domestic trophy, leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv three points clear of them in the standings. Shalon Avitan is one of the most notable footballers who played for the club.
