Our football match prediction:
Despite being on the verge of beating Anderlecht in Brussels, Manchester United eventually shared the spoils with the Belgian outfit at Stade Constant Vanden Stock (1-1). Anyhow, the Red Devils moved one step closer to booking their place in the Europa League semis and they are widely expected to get their job done in Thursday’s football match at Old Trafford. Mourinho's men are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Anderlecht as they outclassed Premier League leaders Chelsea at the weekend and we predict that the Red Devils are going to build on the triumph. The Belgians need to beat Man Utd at the “Theatre of Dreams” or to play out a high-scoring draw with Jose Mourinho’s team, but that is easier said than done. The Premier League side have been impressive at home ground in the Europa League and, taking everything into account, home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Antonio Valencia):
Antonio Valencia is a versatile right winger who plays for English Premier League club Manchester United. The 30-year-old is often deployed as a right-back too, both at the club and international level. Valencia was a first team regular at El Nacional after rising swiftly through the youth ranks. He would then move to Spanish side Villarreal whose time at the club was spent on loans to Recreativo and Wigan Athletic. After impressing for them on loan, Wigan Athletic signed Valencia permanently in 2008. His performance for them soon attracted interest from several high profile clubs and Valencia eventually signed for Manchester United. He was touted as a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford and would go on to win many titles with them. Valencia made his national debut in 2005 and represented in two FIFA World Cups and as many Copa America. He has won 80 caps for his nation and scored eight goals so far.
Highlighted Team (Anderlecht):
Founded on 27 May, 1908, Anderlecht are considered one of the oldest clubs in Belgium. The Paars-wit are the dominant force in the Belgian Pro League and in 2014 they won their 33rd domestic trophy. Anderlecht did remarkably well to win the UEFA Super Cup title in 1983, with the team defeating Benfica in the final of the competition. The Belgian outfit recorded a 1-0 over the Eagles in the first leg, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the return leg. Anderlecht play their home games at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1917. The stadium was renovated in 1983 and current capacity of Anderlecht’s home ground is 28 063. The Paars-wit have long-standing rivalries with the likes of Standard Liege and Club Brugge, whilst FC Brussels were considered the club’s bitter opponents in the past. The likes of Besnik Hasi, Lucas Biglia, Filip De Wilde and Romelu Lukaku are some of Anderlecht’s notable players.
