Our football match prediction:
Nice were on the verge of sharing the spoils with Lazio at Stadio Olimpico, but the Biancocelesti eventually scored a late winner and picked up all three points from the game. Les Aiglons, though, remained in second place in Group K and a win over Zulte-Waregem would see them book their place in the Europa League knockout stages. Nice have been struggling to find their best form in the Ligue 1 this term, but they are more of a team than Zulte-Waregem and we predict that the hosts will emerge triumphant in Thursday’s football match. Mario Balotelli has netted two goals in the group stages of the Europa League so far this term and the former Milan attacker will be the man to watch in the home team. The Belgian outfit were hammered by Nice (1-5) in front of home fans earlier in the process and they are likely to return home empty-handed from the trip to France.
Highligted Player (Dante):
Dante is a left-footed defender who was born in Salvador, Brazil on 18 October, 1983. The 189-cm-tall centre back, who is capable of playing as a left back as well, started his senior career at Juventude. After making 53 appearances for the club between 2002 and 2004 he moved to Ligue 1 outfit Lille. He played for Belgian sides Charleroi and Standard from 2006 to 2009 and on 27 December, 2008 he signed a contract with Borussia M’gladbach for an undisclosed fee. After impressing with the Fohlen in the 2011/2012 Bundesliga campaign he moved to Bayern Munich at the end of the season and it has to be noted that he scored three goals in 83 league appearances for FCB. In 2015 he signed a contract with fellow Bundesliga team Wolfsburg and he played 24 league games for the Wolves in the 2015/2016 season. In 2013 he won the Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich and he lifted the FIFA Confederations Cup with Brazil the same year.
Highlighted Team (Zulte Waregem):
Over the years Zulte Waregem have established themselves as a top-table side in Belgian Super League. The Essevee are a product of a partnership between Zulte and Waregem and it has to be noted that Zulte Sportief were founded back in 1950. Zulte Waregem impressed in the 2012/2013 Belgian Super League campaign, with the team finishing the process in second place in the standings, only four points behind champions Anderlecht. As a result, the Essevee booked their place in the Europa League group stages, but despite recording victories over the likes of Maribor and Wigan Athletic in Group D the Belgian side eventually failed to advance to the knockout stages of the European competition. Zulte Waregem, who welcome their rivals at Regenboogstadion, will play in the group stages of the Europa League in the 2017/2018 season. Zulte Waregem, who won the Belgian Cup in the 2016/2017 season, will face the likes of Nice, Lazio and Vitesse in Group K.
