Our match prediction:
Genk recorded a routine win over Buducnost Podgorica in the Europa League second qualifying round, first leg, but they failed to impress in the return leg in the capital of Montenegro. However, the Belgians eventually defeated Miodrag Vukotic’s men on penalties and, as a result, they set up a meeting with Cork City in the third qualifying round. The Irish team, on the other hand, did well to upset Swedish side Hacken in round 2, but the clash against Genk will be anything but a walk in the park for the underdogs. Genk coach Peter Maes rested some of his first-team regulars in the clash against Buducnost, but there is every chance he is going to field the best possible side against Cork City. It is more than obvious that Genk are superior to Cork City and we predict that the Belgians are going to record a win over the Irish outfit in Thursday’s football game.
