Our football match prediction:
Zenit Petersburg have been impressive in the group stages of the Europa League this season. The Zenitchiki hammered Vardar (5-0) in their opener and, to make things even better for the fans, they outplayed the likes of Real Sociedad and Rosenborg in the next two group games. The Russian side are on the right track to make it to the knockout stages of the Europa League and they are one point away from meeting the goal. Rosenborg, on the other hand, sit in third place in Group L ahead of Thursday’s football match and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach against Zenit. The visitors should have a number of chances to score on the break and that is the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on Roberto Mancini’s charges. Aleksandr Kokorin has been scoring goals for fun in all competitions and he is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line.
Highlighted Player (Nicklas Bendtner):
Over the years Nicklas Bendtner has established himself as one of the best Danish footballers. The 194-cm tall striker, who is very good in the air, started his senior career at Arsenal and he scored his first goal at the Emirates Stadium in a pre-season match against Paris Saint-Germain. Nicklas Bendtner scored 24 goals in 108 appearances for Arsene Wenger’s troops in the English top flight and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus, he moved to Germany in the summer of 2014 and signed a three-year deal with Wolfsburg. Bendtner made his Bundesliga debut on August 30, coming as a substitute in a 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. After spending two seasons at Wolfsburg, the Denmark international joined Championship side Nottingham Forest on September 7, 2016. Nicklas Bendtner, though, made only 15 appearances in the English second tier for the Reds and it has to be noted that he scored two goals for the City Ground outfit in the 2016/2017 season. In March 2017 the Danish attacker signed a contract with Norwegian side Rosenborg for an undisclosed fee. Nicklas Bendtner represented Denmark at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and he score one goal for the Danes at the showpiece tournament in South Africa.
Highlighted Team (Zenit Petersburg):
Zenit Saint Petersburg are a Russian football club that was founded by workers of Leningrad Metal Plant in 1925. Over the years the Zenitchiki have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in Russian football, but they won their first domestic trophy in 1984. Zenit have been impressive in the national championship in the 21st century, winning four league titles, while clinching two Russian Cups (2010, 2016). The Zenitchiki are a regular participant of the Champions League group stages and in 2008 they did well to win the UEFA Cup. The Russian outfit defeated Glasgow Rangers (2-0) in the title game, with Denisov and Zyryanov both finding the net in the final of the competition. Zenit play their home games at Krestovsky Stadium, the venue that was opened in 2016. Gazprom are the club’s main sponsors and the colour of their home shirts is white-sky blue. Brazilian ace Hulk is probably the most notable footballer who played for Zenit.
