Our match prediction:
By beating Crvena Zvezda of Serbia in the two-legged tie, Sassuolo booked their place in the Europa League group stages. The Neroverdi face an uphill task in the opening match of their Europa League campaign as they take on Athletic Bilbao at their Stadio Citta del Tricolore. Sassuolo suffered a 3-1 loss to Juventus at the weekend, but they managed to extend their goal-scoring run to seven games. The Italians are likely to stick to their attacking style of play and they are likely to find the net in Thursday’s football game against Athletic. The Lions defeated Deportivo La Coruna in their last league game, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence and, taking everything into account, we predict that fans are going to see a high-scoring clash in Reggio Emilia on Thursday evening. The two teams meet for the first time ever in European competitions.
