Our football match prediction:
Skenderbeu and Partizan face each other in a high-risk match at Elbasan Arena. Skenderbeu suffered a 3-1 loss to Dynamo Kiev in their opener, but they did well to hold Young Boys to a 1-1 draw in their first home game of the process. The Albanians are highly motivated to beat Partizan in front of home fans and we predict that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in Thursday’s football match. The Serbian side played out a 1-1 draw with Young Boys at the start of their Europa League campaign, but they failed to defend their two-goal lead against Dynamo Kiev (2-3) at their empty stadium. Partizan are undisputedly more of a team than Skenderbeu, but seeing that the Albanians are tough to beat at home, we believe that the two teams are going to share the spoils at Elbasan Arena.
Highligted Player (Bajram Jashanica):
Bajram Jashanica is a Kosovo Albanian footballer who plays for Skenderbeu Korce as a centre-back. Jashanica is a product of Hysi youth football school and he continued playing for the club at senior level. After scoring five goals in 80 appearances for the club he moved to Albanian side Besa Kavaje in 2013. The 190-cm tall defender, though, played only one season for Besa Kavaje and at the end of the 2013/2014 campaign he signed a deal with Skenderbeu Korce. Over the years Bajram Jashanica has established himself as a first-team regular at Skenderbeu and, no doubt, he helped the club book their place in the 2017/2018 Europa League group stages. Speaking of his international career, Bajram Jashanica made his Kosovo debut on May 21, 2014 in a friendly game against Turkey. He came as a substitute in the 80th minute of the match, replacing Mehmet Hetemaj. Bajram Jashanica has a dual citizenship (Kosovo, Albania).
Highlighted Team (Partizan):
Partizan are a Serbian football club founded by Yugoslav People’s Army on October 4, 1945. The Crno-beli (Black and Whites) play their home games at Partizan Stadium and the capacity of the venue is 32.710. During the 20th century Partizan were in the shadow of their bitterest rivals Crvena zvezda, who won the European Cup in 1991, but nowadays the Crno-beli are the dominant force in the Serbian Super League, with the team winning their 11th domestic trophy of the 21st century in the 2016/2017 season. Partizan face Crvena zvezda in Veciti derbi (Eternal derby) which is considered one of the greatest derbies in the world. Speaking of the club’s European success, Partizan did well to make it to the European Cup final in the 1965/1966 season, but Real Madrid proved to be a big catch for the Serbian champions in the title game at Heysel Stadium. The likes of Predrag Mijatovic, Miroslav Djukic, Savo Milosevic, Danko Lazovic, Stevan Jovetic, Matija Nastasic, Albert Nadj, Mateja Kezman and Adem Ljajic are the notable footballers who played for Partizan in the past.
