Our football match prediction:
Shakhtar Donetsk will be aiming to keep their 100% record intact when they face Sporting Braga at Estadio Municipal de Braga on Thursday evening. The Miners have already clinched top position in Group H, but they certainly want to put icing on the cake with a victory over the Portuguese team. Shakhtar Donetsk are on a ten-game winning run ahead of the trip to Braga and we are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play. Os Minhotos sit in second place in Group H ahead of Thursday’s football match and considering that they are just one point clear of third-placed Gent, we predict that the hosts will go all guns blazing at the Ukrainian outfit in their final group game. It is well known that Braga are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we are tempted to put our money on the hosts.
Highligted Player (Marko Bakic):
Marko Bakic began his senior career at Mogren, playing 33 league games for the club between 2010 and 2012. On 30 August, 2012 he signed a two-year deal with Serie A team Torino and he made his debut with the club on May, 19 in a 2-2 draw against Catania. The Montenegro international, who was born in Budva on 1 November, 1993, then moved to Fiorentina, but he made no more than three league appearances with the Viola from 2013 to 2016. After ending his loan spells with Spezia and Belenenses, he moved to Braga in 2016, penning a five-year contract. On 15 August, 2012 Marko Bakic made his Montenegro debut against Latvia at the age of 18. His main position is central midfield, but he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder as well. Marko Bakic made his Braga debut against Vitoria Guimaraes, replacing Rafa Silva in the second half of the match. Os Minhotos recorded a 1-0 win over Guimaraes back then.
Highlighted Team (Shakhtar Donetsk):
Despite the fact that they were founded back in 1936, Shakhtar Donetsk were struggling to win the Ukrainian Premier League trophy until 2002. The Miners have established themselves as the dominant force in Ukrainian football and it has to be noted that they won their ninth domestic trophy in 2014. Shakhtar Donetsk were playing at Donbass Arena in the past, but due to war in Donbass the club temporarily moved to Arena Lviv. In 2009 the Miners won the UEFA Cup trophy under Romanian boss Mircea Lucescu, beating Werder Bremen in the title game. Croatian full back Dario Srna was named the man of the match. Dynamo Kiev are considered Shakhtar Donetsk’s main rivals and there have always been fireworks in meetings between the two sides. Shakhtar have a rivalry with Metalurh Donetsk as well and the two local rivals face each other in the Donetsk Derby. Chelsea ace Willian, Manchester United star Mkhitaryan and Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho all played for Shakhtar in the past.
