Our football match prediction:
Despite suffering a 3-2 loss to Zulte-Waregem in their last group game, Lazio booked their place in the Europa League knockout stages. The Biancocelesti have been impressive in front of goal in all competitions this season and seeing that the club chiefs managed to keep hold of Serbian superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the January transfer window, it is no surprise Simone Inzaghi's troops are seen as hot favourites to win Thursday's football match against Steaua. The Romanian side are on a three-game winless run in the Europa League ahead of the visit of Lazio and given the quality of the Italian outfit, we do not believe that home win should be considered. Ciro Immobile is enjoying a season to remember and the former Juventus attacker is likely to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. Anyhow, Lazio are more of a team than Steaua and we predict that they will emerge triumphant in the first leg.
Highlighted Player (Denis Alibec):
After starting his senior career at Farul Constanta, Denis Alibec joined Italian giants Inter in 2009, but he failed to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Serie A club. The Romanian attacker made no more than two appearances for the Nerazzurri in the Italian top flight and he was hungry for a first-team football. As a result, he signed a loan deal with Mechelen in 2011 and he spent the 2012/2013 season at Viitorul Constanta. Denis Alibec played one match for Bologna on loan as well and in 2014 he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Astra Giurgiu. Alibec scored 32 goals in 64 appearances for the club before joining Steaua Bucharest in 2017. He has been playing for the Stelistii ever since and it has to be noted that he scored eight goals for the Romanian outfit in the 2016/2017 Liga 1 campaign. Denis Alibec made his debut for the Romania national football team on October 11, 2015 in an Euro 2016 qualifier against Faroe Islands.
Highlighted Team (Lazio Roma):
Lazio are an Italian football club based in Rome. Lazio were founded in 1900 and they compete in the Serie A. The Biancocelesti (The White and Sky Blues) have won two Serie A trophies (1973/1974, 1999/2000), while lifting six Coppa Italia titles. The capital club play their home games at Stadio Olimpico and Roma are regarded as Lazio’s main rivals. The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy. Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco. The likes of Pavel Nedved, Giuseppe Favalli, Juan Sebastian Veron, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Roberto Mancini, Giuseppe Signori, Miroslav Klose and Simone Inzaghi are notable footballers who played for Lazio in the past.
