Our football match prediction:
Sturm Graz quickly recovered from a shocking 1-0 loss to Mladost Podgorica at their Merkur Arena, with the team recording a routine 3-0 win over the Montenegrins at Stadion Pod Goricom. The Austrian side set up a meeting with Fenerbahce and it remains to be seen if they are capable of claiming a major scalp in the Europa League third qualifying round. Sturm are likely to stick to their attacking style of play in the first leg and we would not be surprised if they find the net in Thursday’s football match. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, have been struggling to find their best form in pre-season and they are on a five-game winless run ahead of the trip to Austria. However, given the quality of the away team, there is every chance Aykut Kocaman’s men will grab something from Thursday’s clash. Taking everything into account, both teams to score bet should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Carlos Kameni):
Carlos Kameni is considered one of the best African goalkeepers of all times. The Cameroonian international played for Kadji Sports during his youth career and in 2000 he signed a contract with Le Havre. Four years later Carlos Kameni joined Espanyol and he made no less than 222 appearances for the Catalan outfit. On 13 January, 2012 the Cameroonian shoot-stopper moved to fellow La Liga side Malaga and he has been playing for los Boquerones ever since. Carlos Kameni was born in Douala, Cameroon on 18 February, 1984 and 18 years later he represented his homeland at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He made Cameroon 2010 World Cup squad as well, but he did not see any game action at the showpiece tournament as French tactician Paul Le Guen preferred Souleymanou Hamidou over him. You should have in mind that Kameni’s older brother Mathurin was a goalkeeper as well. Carlos was named the Best African Goalkeeper for the 2006/2007 season.
Highlighted Team (Fenerbahce):
Fenerbahce are one of the biggest football clubs in Turkey. The Kanaryalar were founded on 3 May, 1907 as Fenerbahce Futbol Kulubu. Fener won their first domestic trophy in 1959 and they quickly established themselves as one of the main forces in Turkish football. In 2014 Fenerbahce clinched their 19th league title, with the team finishing the season nine points clear of Besiktas. Galatasaray are considered Fener’s bitterest rivals and the two teams face each other in Kitalar Arasi Derbi. The rivalry between the clubs started back in 1934, when a friendly between the two teams was abandoned due to riots. Besiktas are regarded as Fenerbahce’s big rivals as well. The likes of Mujdat Yetkiner, Zeki Riza Sporel, Aykut Kocaman, Emre Belozoglu, Alex, Nicolas Anelka, Diego Lugano, Roberto Carlos and Dirk Kuyt are famous footballers who played for the club in the past. The Kanaryalar play their home games at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the venue that was opened in 1908. Fener’s home kits are navy blue and yellow.
