Our prediction for this Europa League match:
Villarreal kick off their Europa League campaign with a match against Glasgow Rangers at their Estadio de la Ceramica. Over the years Villarreal have established themselves as one of the best teams in Spain and they often produce fine displays in European competitions. The club chiefs did well to persuade Santi Cazorla to return to the club in the summer transfer window, but the Yellow Submarine have been struggling to find their best form at the start of the season. Villarreal footballers are eager to give fans some cheer and we predict that they will go all guns blazing at Glasgow Rangers in their Europa League opener. The Scottish side have been producing fine displays under Steven Gerrard this season and seeing that they look solid at the back, we believe that under 2.5 goals will be scored in Thursday’s football match.
Highlighted Player (Karl Toko-Ekambi):
Karl Toko Ekambi is a professional footballer who plays for Ligue 1 club Angers as a striker. Ekambi was born in Paris on September 14 1992, but he does not represent les Tricolores on the international stage. The 183-cm-tall attacker plays for Cameroon and it has to be noted that he made his senior debut for les Lions Indomptables in a 3-2 win over Burkina Faso back in June, 2015. Ekambi came as a substitute in the 77th minute of the match, replacing fellow attacker Mengolo. The Cameroonian footballer played for Paris FC during his youth career and he made his first-team debut for the capital club on April 26, 2011 in a 2-2 draw with Beauvais. Karl Toko Ekambi scored 21 goals in 66 appearances for Paris from 2010 to 2014 and at the end of the 2013/2014 season he joined Sochaux. After netting 25 goals in 72 appearances for the club, in the summer of 2016 Ekambi signed a contract with Angers which expires on June 30, 2020.
Highlighted Team (FC Rangers):
Glasgow Rangers are one of the two synonyms for Scottish Football. Glasgow Rangers were founded back in 1872 and they have been playing an important role in the Scottish top flight ever since. The Gers won their 54th Scottish Premier League title in the 2010/2011 season, but winning of European Cup Winners’ Cup trophy in 1972 is considered the club’s biggest success. Glasgow Rangers defeated Dynamo Moscow in the final of the competition, with the likes of Stein and Johnston (two goals) scoring for the Scottish side. Celtic are considered the club’s biggest rivals and there have always been fireworks when the two teams meet in the Old Firm derby. The likes of Paul Gascoigne, David Weir, Stefan Klos, Chris Boyd, Ian Durrant and Kenny Miller are some of Rangers’ former notable players. It has to be noted that the Gers welcome their rivals at Ibrox Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 50,817. Rangers’ support is largely drawn from the Protestant Unionist community.
