Our match prediction:
Against all odds, West Ham United suffered a 2-1 loss to Domzale in the Europa League third qualifying round, first leg. As a result, the Hammers face a must-win situation in the return leg and they do not want history to repeat itself. West Ham were beaten by Astra of Romania in the 2015/2016 Europa League qualifiers and they are desperate to make amends for the unsuccessful campaign. Coach Slaven Bilic experimented against Domzale in the first leg, but, no doubt, the Croatian tactician and his men are going to take Thursday’s football match very seriously. Over the years West Ham have turned their Boleyn Ground into a real fortress and they are likely to defeat Domzale in the return leg. The Slovenian outfit recorded only one win in previous five away games in the Europa League and we predict that they are going to return home empty-handed.
Highligted Player (Noble):
Mark Noble is a professional footballer who plays for West Ham United. He was born on 8 May, 1987 and he began his youth career at the age of 13. Mark Noble made his debut for the West Ham United senior team in August 2004 in a 2-0 win over Southend. He plays as a midfielder and is considered one of the best penalty takers in the Premier League. In 2014 Mark Noble was ranked in the top five penalty takers in Europe. Noble won the Football League Championship twice with West Ham United (2004/2005, 2011/2012) and, speaking of his individual honours, he won the Hammer of the Year award on two occasions (2011/2012, 2013/2014). Mark Noble has yet to earn his first cap for the England national team. However, it has to be noted that the West Ham United midfielder scored three goals in 20 appearances for England U21. Following some impressive showings in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, the midfielder was tipped to make England’s Euro 2016 squad, but he eventually missed out.
Highlighted Team (West Ham United):
West Ham United are an English football club based in East London. The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The capital club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight. West Ham United have strong rivalries with fellow London clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur are considered the club’s main rivals. A number of top-class players were part of West Ham in the past and the likes of Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez, Paolo Di Canio, Paul Ince, Julian Dicks, Shaka Hislop, Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic are some of them.
