Our football match prediction:
Thanks to a win over Opava in the Czech Cup final Zlin booked their place in the Europa League group stages. The Sevci have been grouped with the likes of Copenhagen, Lokomotiv Moscow and Sheriff Tiraspol and they are definitely capable of recording a good result in Group F. Zlin welcome Sheriff at their Andruv Stadium in their Europa League opener and a win over the Moldavian side would definitely give them a confidence boost ahead of upcoming challenges. Sheriff, on the other hand, are the dominant force in the Moldavian football, but they have been struggling in European competitions in recent years. Sheriff are on a five-game winless run in the Europa League and that is the main reason why we predict that Czechs will emerge triumphant in Thursday’s football match. You should bear in mind that the Moldavian champions failed to win previous seven away games in the Europa League.
Highligted Player (Stanislav Dostal):
Stanislav Dostal is a Czech goalkeeper who plays for FC Zlin. Dostal was born in on June 20, 1991 in Czechoslovakia and he is a product of Zlin football academy. The 186-cm tall shot-stopper made his Czech First League debut in November 2008 against Olomuc, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the Czech national football team. Stanislav Dostal, though, has six caps for the U18 team and it has to be noted that he played one match for Czech Republic U19 as well. The goalkeeper made 24 appearances for Zlin in the 2017/2017 Czech First League campaign, conceding 24 goals in the process, while keeping eight clean sheets. Nonetheless, his most successful season was the 2014/2015 campaign as he managed to keep no less than 11 clean sheets in 26 appearances in the league for FC Zlin. Stanislav Dostal is likely to play for Zlin in the 2017/2018 Europa League campaign where the Czech club will face the likes of Sheriff Tiraspol, Lokomotiv Moscow and Copenhagen.
Highlighted Team (Sheriff Tiraspol):
Sheriff Tiraspol or simply Sheriff are the most successful Moldavian club. The club was founded in 1997 four years later (2000/2001) they won their first Moldovan National Division trophy. Over the years Sheriff Tiraspol have established themselves as the dominant force in the Moldovan football and you should that they won their 15th domestic trophy in the 2016/2017 season. Sheriff were level on points with Dacia Chisinau, but thanks to a better goal difference Roberto Bordin’s men won the national championship. The Moldovan champions wear yellow shirts and yellow shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is black. Sheriff Tiraspol host their opponents at Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol and the venue can hold 12.746 people. By beating the likes of Dinamo Tirana and Dinamo Zagreb the Moldovan club did well to make it to the Champions League play-off round in the 2010/2011 season, but Basel eventually proved to be a big catch for them.
