Our football match prediction:
USA coach Bruce Arena decided not to count on star players for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup and, as a result, the Yanks failed to impress in their opener against Panama. The tournament hosts were hold to a 1-1 draw by los Canaleros and, no doubt, they are going to adopt an attack-minded approach in Sunday’ football match against Martinique. Jean-Marc Civault’s men kicked off their Gold Cup campaign in style, with the team beating Nicaragua 2-0 at Nissan Stadium in Nashvile. However, they face an uphill task in their second group game against Bruce Arena’s team and we do not believe that they are going to record their first ever win over the Yanks. Sunday’s game is of big importance for the hosts and we predict that they will fight tooth and nail against Martinique. Dom Dwyer, who scored in the 1-1 draw with Panama, is going to lead the line for the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Timothy Chandler):
Timothy Chandler is a professional footballer, who started his senior career at Eintracht Frankfurt reserve team. In 2010 he signed for Nurnberg and he made 17 appearances for the reserve team. After playing 95 league games for Nurnberg he returned to Eintracht Frankfurt on 3 June, 2014, signing a three-year contract with his former club. Chandler was born in Frankfurt on 29 March, 1990, but seeing that his father is American, the defender decided to play for the USA national football team. Chandler made his USA debut on March, 2011, coming as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Argentina. The Freiburg defender made USA 2014 World Cup squad, but he did not play for the Yanks at the showpiece tournament in Brazil. It has to be noted that Chandler made 10 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign. His main position is right back, but he is capable of playing as a right midfielder and a right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Martinique):
Martinique are a national football team controlled by Ligue de Football de Martinique. Les Matinino qualified for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, with the team booking their place at the final of the competition for the fifth time. Martinique made it to the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup in 2002 and that is considered the team’s biggest success at the CONCACAF Championship. In 1993, though, les Matinino did well to win the Carribean Cup as they defeated Jamaica on penalties in the title game. The likes of Kevin Parsemain and Cretinoir Sebastien are considered one of the most famous footballers that played for the Martinique national football team. Jean-Sylvain Babin, who played in La Liga for the likes of Granada and Sporting Gijon is yet another notable player who represented Martinique on the international stage. Les Matinino play their home games at Stade Pierre Aliker Dillon and the capacity of the stadium is 16,300 people.
