Our match prediction:
Die Schanzer continued with their under-par performances on the road, losing to Darmstadt in the previous round, but the loss will not hit them hard, since Ingolstadt already secured their survival in the Bundesliga. Ralf Hasenhuttl’s men now head home, where they will host the fallen Hannover. Die Roten achieved a surprising triumph over the Foals (2-0), ending their seven-game losing streak on home soil. Even so, HDI-Arena outfit need a miracle to avoid relegation, trailing ten points behind the playoff position. Audi-Sportpark outfit are a completely different team when playing in front of their supporters, with seven straight matches without a defeat. Hannover did manage to snatch a point in their previous away match against Hertha, but it seems highly unlikely they will repeat the performance at Ingolstadt. Anyway, we expect the visitors will go all guns blazing this Saturday afternoon, since they need all three points, but Ingolstadt’s rock-solid defense should do their job once again and we predict a sure win for the hosts.
