Our football match prediction:
Bayern Munich welcome Liverpool at their Allianz Arena in the opening match of their 2017 Audi Cup campaign. The Bavarians are after their fourth trophy at the tournament and they certainly want to record a win which should help them gain confidence ahead of upcoming challenges. The Bundesliga champions are a real force to be reckoned with at home and seeing that coach Carlo Ancelotti is likely to field the best possible side against the Reds, we predict that the hosts will make it to the Audi Cup final. Jurgen Klopp’s men face an uphill task in Tuesday’s football match and the likes of Robert Lewandowski and James Rodriguez are likely to prove a handful for Liverpool’s shaky defence. When the two teams met in the UEFA Super Cup back in 2001 Liverpool recorded a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich back then, but nowadays the Bavarians are a much better team than the Reds.
Highlighted Player (Manuel Neuer):
Manuel Neuer is a German shoot-stopper who plays for Bayern Munich. Neuer used to play for Schalke in the past and in 2011 he joined their fierce rivals FCB for a fee of €22 million. Some Bayern fans were unhappy about the signing of the Schalke goalkeeper, but they changed their quickly changed their opinions. The 193-cm-tall keeper, who was born on 27 March, 1986 in Gelsenkirchen, has established himself as one of the best shoot-stoppers in the world and, no doubt, he helped Bayern Munich win the 2015/2016 Bundesliga trophy. In 2012/2013 Manuel Neuer and FCB clinched the Champions League trophy as they defeated fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the title game. Speaking of his international career, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper won the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany and it has to be noted that he managed to keep a clean sheet in the title game (1-0). Neur’s idol as a child was Jens Lehman, who played for Germany as a goalkeeper as well.
Highlighted Team (Liverpool):
Founded back in 1892, Liverpool are one of England’s and world’s most famous clubs. The Reds hold a high-profile rivalry with Everton and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the Merseyside derby. The Reds welcome their opponents at Anfield and it has to be noted that they have already won 18 first division trophies. Liverpool were on the verge of lifting the 2014/2015 Premier League trophy, but Steven Gerrard slipped in the decider against Chelsea and left the Reds without a title. Liverpool won their last Champions League trophy in 2005, with the team coming from three goals behind to beat Milan in a historic clash in Istanbul. The Reds have clinched five European Cups and it is no surprise they are regarded as one of the greatest European clubs. The likes of Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Paul Ince, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Sami Hyypia and Luis Suarez are some of the most notable footballers to have represented the club over the years. The club’s anthem is You’ll Never Walk Alone and their shirt colour is red.
