Our football match prediction:
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, the two European giants, face each other at MetLif Stadium at the 2016 International Champions Cup. Los Blancos managed to bounce back from a shocking 3-1 loss to PSG, with the team beating Chelsea on Saturday and, no doubt, Zinedine Zidane’s troops regained a much-needed confidence. However, seeing that Cristiano Ronaldo misses the tournament with injury, we are not tempted to put our money on Real Madrid in Thursday’s football game against Bayern Munich. The mighty Bavarians were beaten by Milan on penalties in their opener, but they hammered Inter in their second match at the tournament in USA and they are widely expected to beat Ronaldo-less Real Madrid on Thursday. American youngster Julian Green scored a hat-trick against Inter and he will be looking to extend his goal-scoring run when Bayern Munich and Real Madrid take on each other in New Jersey.
Highlighted Player (Neuer):
Manuel Neuer is a German shoot-stopper who plays for Bayern Munich. Neuer used to play for Schalke in the past and in 2011 he joined their fierce rivals FCB for a fee of €22 million. Some Bayern fans were unhappy about the signing of the Schalke goalkeeper, but they changed their quickly changed their opinions. The 193-cm-tall keeper, who was born on 27 March, 1986 in Gelsenkirchen, has established himself as one of the best shoot-stoppers in the world and, no doubt, he helped Bayern Munich win the 2015/2016 Bundesliga trophy. In 2012/2013 Manuel Neuer and FCB clinched the Champions League trophy as they defeated fellow Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the title game. Speaking of his international career, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper won the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy with Germany and it has to be noted that he managed to keep a clean sheet in the title game (1-0). Neur’s idol as a child was Jens Lehman, who played for Germany as a goalkeeper as well.
Highlighted Team (Real Madrid):
Real Madrid are a Spanish football club based in Madrid. Real Madrid participate in La Liga (Primera Division) and they have won 32 domestic titles. On the other hand, los Blancos have won 11 European Cup titles and that is the main reason why they are considered the biggest football club in the world. Real Madrid play their home matches at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the capacity of the stadium is 84,454. Cristiano Ronaldo is the club’s most successful footballer in the 21st century and the Portuguese superstar has won two Golden Ball awards. The likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Zinedine Zidane, Raul Gonzalez Blanco, David Beckham and Iker Casillas are star players who were part of the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the past. Real Madrid’s bitterest rivals are Barcelona, but the rivalry between local rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid is big as well. Real Madrid’s home kit is white and, as a result, the team’s nickname is los Blancos (the Whites).
