Our football match prediction:
Aviva Stadium in Dublin will host the match between Celtic and Barcelona. The two teams take on each other at the International Champions Cup and it remains to be seen if the Hoops are capable of grabbing something from Saturday’s football match. Celtic were beaten by Leicester City on penalties in their opener and, no doubt, they are eager to make amends for the defeat. Barca, on the other hand, aim to kick off their International Champions Cup campaign on a high and they are eager to prove their worth on the field. Coach Luis Enrique is likely to experiment against Celtic, but regardless of which players will be deployed to the starting line-up, we predict that the Catalan giants are going to pick up all three points from the game. When the two teams met in the Champions League three years ago Barcelona crushed Celtic 6-1.
Highlighted Player (Andre Gomes):
Andre Filipe Tavares Gomes is a Portuguese footballer who represented the likes of Porto, Boavista and Benfica during his youth career, but eventually signed a professional deal with the Eagles. Even if he hadn’t made too many first team appearances for the Portuguese giants, the midfielder saw his economic rights sold to a private company in January 2014, and the deal eventually saw him join Spanish giants Valencia. The attacking midfielder immediately nailed down a regular starting berth at Mestalla, proving his undoubted potential, and catching the eye of top Italian sides such as Juventus and Napoli. Gomes has yet to establish himself as an important player for the Portugal national team, but he has made several appearances under Fernando Santos and is expected to play a key role for the Selecao in the future. Possessing impressive technical skills and capable of covering a number of positions in midfield, Gomes is a modern midfielder who has been showing incredible maturity for his age, so no wonder he is predicted a bright future in the game.
Highlighted Team (Barcelona):
Barcelona are a Spanish football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia. Barca were founded in 1899 and they are regarded as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Catalan giants won their 24th La Liga title in 2016, with Luis Suarez winning “El Pichichi” award. Barcelona have won five European Cup trophies and a number of top-class players were part of the team in the past. The likes of Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Pep Guardiola are some of many players that played for Barca in the past, but, no doubt, Leo Messi has established himself as the club’s trademark. Barcelona welcome their rivals at Camp Nou, the stadium that was built in 1957. Barcelona’s local rivals are Espanyol, but the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid is much bigger. The two La Liga giants face each other in “El Clasico”, which is considered one of the most exciting derbies in the world football. Barca are famous for their football youth school La Masia as well.
