Our football match prediction:
Inter failed to impress in the 2016/2017 Serie A campaign, with the team finishing the season in seventh place in the standings. The Nerazzurri will not represent Italy in European competitions, meaning that they will be fully focused on the national championship next term. Stevan Jovetic has ended his loan spell with Sevilla and, no doubt, the Montenegro international is going to play an important role in Luciano Spalletti’s team in the 2017/2018 Serie A season. Fiorentina midfielder Borja Valero has joined the club in the summer transfer window and he will be yet another man to watch in the Serie A team in Friday’s football match against Schalke. Die Knappen, on the other hand, hammered Erkenschwick 9-1 in their first warm-up game, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Friday’s football match against Inter. Max Meyer, who helped Germany U21 team win the European Championship in June, is likely to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders, but we predict that the two teams are going to share the spoils in the Dragon City Cup clash.
Highligted Player (Miranda):
Miranda is a Brazilian central defender who plays for Internazionale in Serie A. He began his career at the Brazilian club Coritiba and within a year moved to French club Sochaux. But after failing to establish himself even there, he was soon back in Brazil with Sao Paulo. It was only during the five years at Sao Paulo that Miranda earned his name as a tough centre back. In 2011, he made a move to Atletico Madrid and was a key member of Diego Simeone’s hard-tackling defensive unit. Miranda’s tenure at Atletico was laced with many titles including La Liga and UEFA Europa League. He made his full international debut for Brazil in 2009 and was a key member of the squad that won the Confederations Cup that year. Miranda represented Brazil only 27 times so far but has established himself as a regular for new coach Dunga, after replacing Thiago Silva.
Highlighted Team (Schalke 04):
Schalke 04 are a professional football club founded in 1904. Die Knappen (The Miners) compete in German Bundesliga and they have won seven domestic titles. Schalke have clinched five German Cup trophies as well, while lifting the UEFA Cup title in 1997. The German club defeated Italian side Inter on penalties in the title game and that was the last time the final of the competition was played in a two-legged format. Schalke 04 play their home matches at Veltins-Arena, the stadium that has been the home of the team since 2001. The capacity of Veltins-Arena is 62,271. It is well known that Borussia Dortmund are Schalke’s main rivals and the Ruhy neighbours face each other in the Revierderby. The likes of Klaus Fichtel (477), Norbert Nigbur (355), Rolf Russmann (304), Klaus Fischer (295), Olaf Thon (295) and Herbert Lutkebohmert (286) are the players with most appearances for die Knappen. The colour of Schalke’s home kit is blue.
