Our football match prediction:
Monday’s football match at NRG Stadium pits together Manchester United and Manchester City. The Red Devils did remarkably well to win the Europa League trophy last season, but fans are hungry for more. The club chiefs signed Everton top scorer Romelu Lukaku, with Wayne Rooney going in the opposite direction and, no doubt, the Belgian ace is going to prove a handful for Manchester United’s bitter rivals Manchester City at the start of the 2017 International Champions Cup. The Citizens, on the other hand, are determined to regain the Premier League trophy and, as a result, the club owners are on a quest to reinforce the squad. Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva has already joined the squad, with Samir Nasri and Eliaquim Mangala ending loan spells with Sevilla and Valencia respectively. A close encounter appears on the cards, but seeing that Jose Mourinho wants to win everything, we are tempted to put our money on the Red Devils.
Highlighted Player (Vincent Kompany):
Vincent Kompany is regarded as one of the best defenders in the world of football. The Belgian ace was born on 10 April, 1986 and he is capable of playing as centre back and defensive midfielder. Kompany began his youth career at Anderlecht and in 2006 he arrived to Germany to play for Bundesliga side Hamburger SV. Two years later he signed for Manchester City for a fee of £6 million. The Man City defender has won two Premier League trophies with the Etihad Stadium outfit (2011/2012, 2013/2014) and he made it to the Champions League semis in the 2015/2016 season with the Citizens. Vicent Kompany was named the Premier League player of the season in the 2011/2012 campaign and it has to be noted that he was awarded the captaincy of Man City back then. The Belgium international married Carla Higgs in 2011, who gave birth to their two children (daughter and son).
Highlighted Team (Manchester United):
Over the years Manchester United have established themselves as one of the greatest clubs in world football. The Red Devils have won three European Cup (Champions League) trophies and they have clinched no less than 20 Premier League titles. A number of top-class players were part of Manchester United in the past, but, no doubt, the club’s biggest legend is coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who was in charge of the team for 26 years. During Alex Ferguson’s spell at Old Trafford the club won a number of trophies, but the Red Devils have been struggling in all competitions ever since he retired. Louis van Gaal helped Manchester United win the FA Cup trophy in the 2015/2016 season, with Jese Lingard scoring the winner in the 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium. The likes of Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best and Eric Cantona are the football stars that graced Old Trafford for Manchester United.
