Our football match prediction:
Stadio Letzigrund in Zurich will host Friday's football match between Portugal and Egypt. Portugal played out a 1-1 draw with United States in their last warm-up game, but A Selecao were playing without key player Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 returns to contention against Egypt and we predict that the opposition defenders are going to have their work cut out for them when facing the Real Madrid superstar. Egypt, on the other hand, did well to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with the team facing the likes of Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia in Group A. Key player Mohamed Salah, who scored four goals in a 5-0 win over Watford, will be the man to watch in the away team and, no doubt, the opposition defenders should have him at bay. However, given the quality of Fernando Santos' team, we do not believe that Egypt are capable of grabbing something from Friday's friendly.
Highlighted Player (Ronaldo):
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the world’s best football players. The Portuguese ace was born on 5 February, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira and he played for the likes of Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting during his youth career. CR7 made his Sporting debut in Primeira Liga on 7 October, 2002, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Moreirense. Manchester United scouts spotted him and one year later he joined the Old Trafford outfit. Ronaldo became the most expensive teenager in the history of the Premier League and he received the number 7 shirt. He quickly established himself as the team’s key player and it has to be noted that he won three consecutive Premier League trophies with the Red Devils (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009). In 2008 he helped the Old Trafford outfit beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, scoring for Alex Ferguson’s troops in the regular time. Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he helped the Spanish giants with two Champions League trophies. In 2016 he won the European Championship trophy with Portugal. The Real Madrid ace has two Golden Ball awards (2013, 2014).
Highlighted Team (Egypt):
Egypt are an African football team that plays their home games at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria. Over the years Egypt have established themselves as the most successful national team in Africa and you should bear in mind that they won their seventh Africa Cup of Nations trophy in 2010. The Pharaohs participated at the World Cup finals on two occasions (1934 and 1990) and they failed to make it to the knockout stages of the showpiece tournament. Egypt suffered a 4-2 loss to Hungary on their World Cup debut and it has to be noted that the African team scored no more than one goal at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Ahmed Hassan is the player with the most caps for the Egyptian national team (184), while Hossam Hassan is the team’s top scorer (68). The colour of Egypt’s home kit is red and white and the Pharaohs play their away games in white shits and black shorts.
