Our football match prediction:
Portugal will be aiming to put icing on the cake on a very successful year with a win over United States of America. After winning Euro 2016 trophy, A Selecao made it to the FIFA Confederations Cup semis earlier this year and, to make things even better for the fans, they booked their place at the 2018 World Cup finals. Cristiano Ronaldo will not play against USA, but seeing that the Yanks head into the match with a severely-weakened squad, home win should be considered. USA key player are focused on the MLS play-offs and there is every chance the visitors will return home empty-handed. It has been 27 years since Portugal recorded their last win over USA and we believe that the time has come for Fernando Santos’ troops to celebrate. In Ronaldo’s absence Milan attacker Andre Silva is likely to lead the line for the hosts against the Yanks.
Highlighted Player (Cristiano Ronaldo):
Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the world’s best football players. The Portuguese ace was born on 5 February, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira and he played for the likes of Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting during his youth career. CR7 made his Sporting debut in Primeira Liga on 7 October, 2002, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Moreirense. Manchester United scouts spotted him and one year later he joined the Old Trafford outfit. Ronaldo became the most expensive teenager in the history of the Premier League and he received the number 7 shirt. He quickly established himself as the team’s key player and it has to be noted that he won three consecutive Premier League trophies with the Red Devils (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009). In 2008 he helped the Old Trafford outfit beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, scoring for Alex Ferguson’s troops in the regular time. Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he helped the Spanish giants with two Champions League trophies. In 2016 he won the European Championship trophy with Portugal. The Real Madrid ace has two Golden Ball awards (2013, 2014).

Highlighted Team (United States):

The United States Men’s National Soccer Team commonly referred to as the USMNT have been playing at the international level since 1916 and their debut 3-2 win at Sweden. The USMNT have first appeared at a FIFA World Cup in 1930 when they achieved their best ever result by reaching the semi-final of the competition and ultimately finishing third, which remains the joint highest finish of any team outside of the UEFA and CONMEBOL confederations. Following the 1950 FIFA World Cup, the United States did not qualify for the tournament until 1990. The US also hosted the competition in 1994, going out to lose to Brazil in the round of 16. Hosts of the Copa America Centenario, the United States will try to record a noticeable result on home soil under the leadership of Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann. The US have bright history in the century-old tournament and will hope to repeat the glorious 1995 run when they finished fourth.
