Our football match prediction:
Colombia will be aiming to put an end to their four-game winless run when they take on Korea Republic in a friendly at Suwon World Cup Stadium. The Koreans did well to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, but it has to be noted that they failed to win previous six games in all competitions. Shin Tae-Yong’s men experienced all sorts of problems at the back in back-to-back losses to the likes of Russia (2-4) and Morocco (1-3) and that is the main reason why home win should not be considered. Colombia, on the other hand, booked their place at the FIFA World Cup thanks to a 1-1 draw with Peru and they are surely high on confidence ahead of the trip to Suwon. However, seeing that the visitors will be without key attacker Radamel Falcao (injury) in Friday’s football match, we predict that the two teams will play out a draw in South Korea.
Highligted Player (Hee-Chan Hwang):
Hwang Hee-Chan is a product of Pohang Steelers football academy. The Korean attacker, who was born in Chuncheon on January 26, 1996, started his senior career at FC Liefering of Austria and he scored 13 goals in 31 appearances for the club. The 177-cm tall striker currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg and you should bear in mind that he netted 12 goals for the club in the 2016/2017 season. Hwang Hee-Chan won his second Austrian Bundesliga title with Salzburg in the 2016/2017 season, but the Red Bulls eventually failed to make it to the Champions League group stages. The Salzburg footballer made his South Korea debut in a 2-0 win over Canada on November 11, 2016. Hee-Chan played regularly for the Korea national football team in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and he scored one goal in the process. The Koreans eventually booked their place at the showpiece tournament in Russia, meaning that the Salzburg attacker will have a chance to prove his worth on the big stage.
Highlighted Team (Colombia):
Seleccion de futbol Colombia has stepped on to the international scene in 1938 with its competitive debut against Mexico. Colombia has in recent years become a national symbol of strength representing country’s efforts to fight the negative reputation. Passionate about their football team, Colombians have formed a huge fan base which enjoyed in their team’s impressive run to the 2014 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals at the competition in which Real Madrid star James Rodriguez was awarded the Golden Boot for most goals and the Best Goal of the Tournament awards. Jose Pekerman’s team has also been named the Fair Play team at the same event. The fans were pretty disappointed to see their team reach the quarter-final stage at the 2015 Copa America though as Colombia crashed out in disappointing fashion losing to Argentina after a penalty kick. Radamel Falcao remains the most prominent star of the current team despite his poor spells with Manchester United and Chelsea respectively. Monaco striker is also the team’s top scorer with 25 goals added to his name.
