Our prediction for this match:
Burton Albion play host to Sheffield United at their Pirelli Stadium in a pre-season friendly. The Brewers were having their ups and downs in the 2018/2019 season and, as a result, they finished the process in 9th place in the standings. Burton aim to make amends for the unsuccessful campaign and, no doubt, a win over the newly-promoted Premier League side will give them a confidence boost.
The League One team would be happy with a draw from Tuesday’s football game and seeing that Sheffield United coach Chris Wilder is unlikely to field the best possible side against the lower-league side, share of spoils is on the horizon. Under 2.5 goals have been netted in three of their last meeting in all competitions, meaning that yet another low-scoring affair is on the cards. When the two teams met in the 2017/2018 Championship campaign Sheffield United recorded a 2-0 win over Burton Albion.
Highlighted Player (Damien McCrory):
Damien McCrory is an Irish footballer who plays for Burton Albion. The winger, who is capable of playing as full-back as well, was born on 22 February, 1990 and he began his youth career at Plymouth Argyle. However, he did not make a senior debut for the club as he was sent on loan to Port Vale in 2008 and then to Grimsby Town in 2009.
After ending his loan spell with Grimsby Town, Damien McCrory joined Dagenham & Redbridge in February 2010 and he made 76 league appearances for the club. He scored one goal for the club during his spell at Victoria Road and in June 2012 he signed a two-year contract with Burton Albion. The pacey winger scored five goals in 32 appearances for the club in the 2014/2015 campaign and he played no less than 39 games for the Brewers in the 2015/2016 League One campaign.
His showings certainly helped the team book their place in the Championship at the end of the season. Speaking of his international career, McCrory made two appearances for Republic of Ireland U18 team and he has three caps for Ireland U19 team.
Highlighted Team (Sheffield United):
Sheffield United are a professional football club that compete in the Championship. The Blades finished the 2016/2017 League One campaign in top position in the standings, with the team collecting exactly 100 points in the process. Sheffield United last competed in the Premier League in the 2006/2007 season and they were more than unfortunate not to secure the top flight survival.
The Blades finished the season in 18th place in the process and it has to be noted that they were level on points with Wigan Athletic, who managed to avoid the relegation to the English second tier. Sheffield United welcome their rivals at Bramal Lane, the stadium which was opened on April 30, 1855. The current capacity of the venue is 32.702.
The club have numerous rivalries, but the most notable one is the rivalry with their city neighbors Sheffield Wednesday. The two teams face each other in the Steel City derby and it has to be noted that United share rivalry with the likes of Barnsley, Rotherham United, Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United as well.
