Our football match prediction:
Struggling Lazio will be desperate to kick-start their season when they host Atalanta at Stadio Olimpico, with the Biancocelesti having largely failed to meet pre-season predictions. Stefano Pioli’s charges are winless in last three matches in all competitions, although at least their Europa League campaign is going according to plan. Following the 1-1 draw in Prague, Lazio stand a good chance of making it to the semi-finals, but they will also want to return to winning ways in Serie A. Atalanta have been equally disappointing of late, failing to win any of their last 13 fixtures (D6 L7), and despite being four points above the relegation zone, they will be under pressure to get something from the Lazio game. A low-scoring encounter is likely to be on the cards when two out-of-confidence sides meet each other, but we do expect the Biancocelesti to secure a hard-fought triumph eventually.
